#534: sentiment.

my bms aren't really into sentimental details. they're more of a..."practical" bunch. well, it's either that or they just don't get my attempts of endearment. which wouldn't be all that surprising because apparently i'm...diff.er.ent.

in any case. i'd love to make these boxes for them and fill 'em to the brim with homemade goodies.

via frolic.

would you get it if i gave this to you? would you get that it's from my heart to yours? would you get that i love you? would you get that i spent the time to make it for you?

just wondering.

hi. i just started following your blog, and i love it! i am getting married in May 2009 on a small budget, and you have some grand ideas!
.. btw.. i think this lil valentines box is much better then many commercial items you can purchase... but i am "different" too. :)

This might be a little snarky, but... only if #6 were spelled correctly.

I saw that on frolic, too and thought it was very sweet but it would've been lost on my fiance!

However, I can certainly see bms going for it (and getting the sentiment behind it) and may just have to keep it in mind for my own plans. Thanks for sharing a new twist on the idea!

DO it. i'm crazy practical and i would love these little delights. i think i will do them for my maids too. another idea that i'm doing- i'm having a friend sew tote/market bags for each of my maids- i'm helping pick out all the fabrics (hopefully lots of vintage pillow cases), ensuring that they are unique to each lady and am hoping to help sew them a little with my 7th grade home ec. skillz. totes will hopefully be practical, personal, and unique.

How sweet! I would love one of those boxes if I were a bridesmaid. But then, I'm not very practical. I can't decide what to get my (very different) bridesmaids either!

I think it is very thoughtful and a great idea! Anyone who wouldn't appreciate it is silly. For Christmas my fiance found a jewelry box at the Goodwill for a buck and loaded it up with notes from friends and family about why they love, with of course his own note. Best gift I have ever received. Homemade gifts rock!

I am a huge fan of homemade gifts and love and practice this in my relationship with FH on all anniversaries and V-day occassions. I therefore love a similar idea for your BMs.

However, I'd be very careful with baked goods for travelling friends. They may be unable to take home/appreciate fully the present. But maybe the box-as-personalized-care-package idea might work best. The messaging/box could be the same, but include some sweets, some nail polishes, a subscription to Vogue, a subscription to the Economist, a pretty necklace, a framed photo of the two of you... whatever floats each girl's boat.

This of course should include chocolate of some sort.

I think this is a fantastic bmaid gift idea! I wish I had thought of it when getting married way back when. Go for it.

I think it would be one of the most memorable and sweetest gifts a person could receive, especially if the box is sturdy enough to be reusable. Could it serve a second life as a card box or something?

I would completely get it. And I would completely love it. I'd eat everything contained within this happy box and then call you with glee and proclaim my mutual love and affection.

I would get it, love it, and most importantly, feel loved.

It's a wonderful idea! I'm sure the gals will love it. (or guys, not sure on all your details yet, as I'm new to your blog :)

I gave a teeny box full of trinkets that made me think of my best friend before she moved overseas for 6 months once. She still treasures it. I'm sure your BMs will to!

This is wonderful! Not only is it inexpensive, it is practical and oh so sweet! Thank you for sharing this idea! I love it!

Am I the only person who thinks Bowel Movements when I see B.M's? I wish people would stop using this abbreviation.

oh absolutely i would get it & appreciate it. i'm logging it in the ol memory for next year's valentine's day. I gave my sweetheart a regular ordinary candy box with the store's name on top - your idea is so much cuter, imaginative & personal.(My name is Carol)
