#544: "girl, i love you."

i don't know about you but i sometimes think about the what ifs and get crazy.

the fiance's not plugged into the blog world much (except for sites like f my life, which, let's be honest -- isn't a blog)...and has never indicated that he'd like to become as obsessed as i have about people i've never even met or spoken to in real life i'm weird i know.

i shared the nienie dialogues with him yesterday. i explained their story and had him read the entry nie wrote on february 7. out loud. {ok, go read it and come back...}

it's not just their current plight that gets me. it's the then and now, everything since even before the plane crash...her husband's love for her, her love for him, their love for their kids.

"girl, i love you."

i get scared sometimes, thinking about what could happen to either of us at any given moment. how would we deal with it. what would we do. from where would we draw the strength. is love enough.

i think about that sometimes and get so worried, the truth is, you never know so you can't dwell on it. You just have to hope you'll be one of the lucky ones

It's amazing how when you go through the most horrifying events, many people do find the strength to go on, whether it be one day or even one hour at a time.

We can be scared, but better to not be paralyzed by all the what-ifs. Usually we'll get our butt kicked by something else entirely.

Peace to you, and here's hoping love IS enough...

P.S. Their's is an amazing story though, wow.

I totally feel you. There's a highly irrational part of me that is scared to death that my fiance wouldn't be able to stick with me through something like that, as much as he loves me. It can really mess with you if you let it!

I am so in agreement with all of you. I sometimes think the craziest scariest thoughts ... just have to keep our spirits high, our hearts full, and keep hope around that life will be kind to us ... and that even when it is not, that the ones we love will be with us to keep us going.

I gotta be honest here, I'm not sure that love is enough. Without commitment, all the love in the world won't hold it together when something like that happens. We have been together 6 years & in that time we have been through some really tough times. Not life threatening but there certainly were times I thought it would be easier to walk away. But I didn't & I won't....

love is not enough, I believe that it is about having faith in God. Faith that things happen for a reason and that He has put you through it so that you can overcome it. When you don't look at the situation as this terrible thing that happened to you, but rather as something that is meant to strengthen not only your faith in Him but your love and need for those around you... I think that the Nielson's have been the pretty much perfect example of how we are to deal with crisis. With faith, and with love for those around us.
