I did the same hairstyle for my Law Ball earlier this year and besides practice (i kinda did a lazy run through a night or so before) i'd really suggest getting the right tools. I didn't have exactly the same curling iron (smaller iron and one of the spring loaded ones) but i think more important are the combs, pins and clips. With enough pins and hairspray it'll withstand a whole night of dancing *but* the practice (either by yourself or a fabulous aspiring hairstylist friend) will make it look neat. And lastly, the most important part is the front/side swirl. Have a go at doing it *exactly* the same as the tutorial but then have a go at being a bit inventive later. I have layers and a fringe so it took a bit of fussing around until I got it to look right for me.

p.s. love your blog, recently started reading but first time commenter and i wish you all the very, very best for the day and the years after :D!
