#495: "so anyways."

last night on my way home, i had a little chatsky with my sister on the phone.

she was talking about her job and telling me how the girl who trained her 7 months ago had left out a step in the process and how she was now backlogged 7 months with this thing she had to do. somewhere during the middle of this story, i bursted out "OMGAW, WE GOT OUR INVITATIONS IN THE MAIL TODAY! ISN'T THAT EXCITING?!"

sister: "ohhhh, yes! ok. so anyways..."

oops. i'm carelessly starting to forget that not everyone's got weddings on the brain like i do.

note to self: check yourself before you wreck yourself.

side note: so basically. i'm extra relieved i have this blog as an outlet for all.things.wedding. know what i mean.

Frustrating isn't it? I'm sure it's worse for you because you're in the last stretch of a very long journey.

I'm sure my mother & friends are sick of me calling to ask them questions like 'Do you think flameless candles are tacky? ...because I don't want reception staff replacing tea lights halfway through the evening.'

lol i have made a HUGE point to NOT talk wedding until I am specifically asked. it's hard, but it's for the reason you just stated here! so true

dear god, i can totally relate. i feel like half my conversations right now are wedding related... and the 'wedding blog' community doesn't help! i keep finding brilliant ideas online and need to tell people about them!!

That is why I started my blog, as an outlet so that I am not constantly talking wedding to all of my friends ... they seem to appreciate it.

Yes! Like Kiana, I've been determined not to talk about the wedding unless asked, but that leads to a different problem: whenever anyone DOES ask, it's a struggle not to go on for an hour because then I'm cramming in all of my pent-up wedding talk! Even when I'm talking about something else, I find my mind drifting to wedding stuff, and I have to hold myself back! Can't believe it's still five months until I'm a "normal" person again! :)

I totally know what you mean! Thank God for this kind of an outlet, at least here we are all obsessed with weddings...haha.

i think as much as we need to remember that to be respectful of those around us they also need to remember that that's ALL going on in our brains too and they need to forgive us when it all comes flooding out : )

Eeeek! I'm guilty of this too! I too, made a point not to talk about the wedding with anyone who hasn't brought it up first - except for my mom and fiance!

Good lord, do I know what you mean....

I've got less than 6 weeks to go, and I feel like I'm at a rapid boil. I'm DIY'ing several aspects of the wedding (all floral, favors, and programs) and doing anything else just makes me fidgety. Gah! Excited, of course... and having fun being crafty... but I secretly can't wait for it to be over.

Totally know the feeling. I often have to stifle myself. LOL.

Checking yourself is so true! I want to tell all of my co-workers about our plans, but I can't, because I won't be inviting them & I don't want them to feel upset!

haha, I totally feel you. It's like that iconic commercial:

This is your brain. [Fries egg] This is your brain on weddings.

I never want to be one of those crazied talk-about-your-wedding-24hrs-a-day girls, but man, it's tempting! Thank goodness for blogs:)

um, try still wanting to talk about weddings *after* you get married.
