#492: i love coffee.

but that's neither here nor there.

filter prices for lay project:

$5.23 for 250ct via costco.

$2.51 for 100ct via amazon.

$1.89 for 100ct via greenline paper.

i'm thinking the softer, natural color would work better than stark white.

You could always dye them with either tea or a colored dye if you wanted.

I think you should try a few different colors like the have in the picture. Otherwise you might not be able to see the definition between the layers quite as well. Dyeing them would look cool too!

I think trader joes has some cheap ones as well. Mixing muffin paper thingies (no idea what those things are called.. sorry) in with the coffee filters might be interesting as well, depending on the size differences of course.

You can dye them with food color, just soak for a minute or two, then let them dry. they'll lose some of their crinkle and create even more depth.

good luck!

I think you mean "le" instead of "lay"

This is very interesting. I like the idea of colors.

Dyeing and different variations of colors is my vote too.

I like the idea of the anon comment, maybe varing the sizes would be interesting, like alternating coffee filters with muffin cups.

i shall dye. and i shall get varying sizes. and then i shall have a party-of-1 to experiment.
and then i shall document my findings on TTO.

thanks for the suggestions!

Oh, I like the dyeing with tea idea. That would give them more depth of color and texture and interest to the eye. :)
