#180: the first time.

i finally did it. i mean, it's a day we all look forward to. and last night, it was so special.

i busted out my brand spankin' new PG5 and made 'missing you' cards.

plodding through all the instructions step-by-step and figuring out how to work it in the first place was the biggest biotch. but after finally getting to the inking stage and stamping my first test card, i was like, this is so freaking amazing!

unfortunately, i only had 5 blank cards to stamp. but i decided early on that it was worth the sacrifice of 2 bulbs and a print screen to just teach myself. and though my design wasn't schmancy enough to look like anything more than just clean marker drawings, yes, it was still worth it.

but now i have two questions.

1) can you reuse bulbs?
2) i followed all the steps to clean the print screen but there's still alotta ink on it. i thought i was supposed to be able to use those again.

time to order more colored inks and supplies!

p.s. lesson learned: do not stare at the machine like it's going to give you money when you press it to flash. i was blind for a good 3 minutes.

i'm glad you found it easy. i've been fighting the losing battle in purchasing one myself so i'd love to hear more about your projects!

once you start you won't be able to stop :) You can't reuse the bulbs after that flash that's it.

I am beginning to feel like the only crafter on the planet without one of these. Maybe Santa will bring me one?

yay! gocco is fun. Unfortunately, you can't use the bulbs again. There might be some leftover ink..but you can still use the screens over. It might take a couple trys until the leftover ink stops blending with the new ink. Happy Gocco'ing!

Yay, Gocco!

I saw that you had a couple questions,

1 no, you cant reuse the bulbs

2 I actually dont bother cleaning my screens if i plan on reusing them. I just keep the ink in there, throw the screen in a ziploc and put it in the fridge. When youre ready to reuse, its pretty much good to go, so long as you keep the bag airtight, and suck out as much air as you can, it works great! Sometimes it needs a little time to "thaw out" but other than that, works!

Obviously if you want to gocco with a different color on the same screen, of course you will have to clean it. I've never been able to clean screens without damaging them, mostly because of my gorilla hands...
