#598: soap giveaway.

via 100 layer cake.

so the ladies of 100 layer cake are hosting a giveaway. a giveaway of yummy soaps that they handmade. or, is it homemade? anyways, the criteria is to leave them a comment describing something unique you're doing or did with your bridesmaids. and then you get the soaps if you win. and then you can gift them to your girlsies.

sadly. i tried to leave a comment but got stuck. because i don't feel like anything i've done has been...'unique'. so. i'm hoping to be inspired by the comments you leave. you know. to get some cool ideas. heh.

so go. leave a comment. maybe win some soaps.

This isn't technically about bridesmaids, but I go so inspired by the soap that for my Washington DC wedding we are going to put Cherry Blossom scented soap in the OOT bags!

Not about bridesmaids per se but you do have a blog in which you NEVER use upper case letters...

I am knitting them each a shawl. I have 18 months til the wedding. I bought the yarn to force myself to do it. Hopefully I'll pull it off. Otherwise I'll have 15 skeins of midnight colored laceweight yarn lying around! Of course my sister, my MOH picked this insane elaborate THING that she really wants me to knit for her. The other girls (6) don't get a choice :) If I am really inspired I might make something for the jr bridesmaids (fiance's nieces). Maybe. I think I might have a screw loose though to be planning this. This is what a happens when you have a 2 1/2 year engagement....the DIY projects are just piling up and getting more and more elaborate. It's fun though :)

I refused to call them bridesmatrons even though they are married.

I'm not Martha Stewart crafty creative but more of a creative thinker. My wedding is in New York during the fall so the gifts to my girls (and I hope they don't stumble upon this) are fabulous peacoats with oversized buttons and silk lining in my wedding color, plum. It's a great coat and I know they will appreciate the warmth!

I only had a matron of honor and had her dress handmade. It wasn't the hokey type dress you usually see, it was just plain enough that she was able to wear it for years afterwards to special events with her husband.

Darling, your entire blog is unique, you should definitely enter! ;) You offer such a great resource for brides here...that is unique in itself...that you are focused on a $10,000 wedding or less - I think that's pretty awesome! And the best part, is especially with this economy the way it is right now, brides need a unique blog like yours...be proud of yourself, woman! ;)

...I'm not having a bridal party. every vendor I've met with is quite shocked by this and gives me major kudos. Wonder if I enter the contest if they'd think that unique... I do love soap! hmmm...
