when in doubt, just don't.
i've decided i don't like the flap idea. fiance and i spent a long night last week cutting, folding, constructing, and goccoing a million of these...but i'm not satisfied.
so we're headed to michaels tonight to see what other goodness we can find. i'm thinking something a little less papery, maybe a bit more glassiney, or waxy. i dunno.
in the meantime, i've also decided to gocco our return address on our envelopes. and i might also add a little something something to the front.
almost kind of exactly like this.
via mint. p.s. ellie's site is a trove of design goodness. just sayin.

I love decorative envelopes! So fun!
yay! thank you! we went back and forth about whether adding "one more layer" to our gocco project would be worth it. envelopes were by far the easiest of it all - we knocked these out in no time.
I love decorative envelopes too! I just embossed my save the date envelopes, you can see them on my blog if you're interested.
We got some great labels from paper source. They are plain so we printed some elements from our invites on them and put addresses in the center. We also ordered custom matching stamps from zazzle and that really dressed up the envelopes and gave it a very complete look. Colored envelopes are also a good option for some pizzaz. We got ours from paper source as well. They have a great range of colors.
hi! love the blog and the envelopes! is there somewhere in the invite that has your return address? reason being, my fiance and i are getting a ton of wedding presents mailed to our apt one month before the wedding. it's really convenient for us so we don't have to lug as much stuff back from the wedding and we get a head start on thank you notes. you might want to include an address if your guests want to send presents in advance. maybe on the back part of the envelope? just a suggestion. :)
never mind! just googled gocco and found out what it was. :) sheepish? yes.
I'm about to purchase a gocco. thanks showing great work while using yours!
that is SO cool. wow, you're good.
Love the print on the front of the envelope!
I am embossing my address on the envelope flap as well and am unsure if I should put our names and address, or just the address. What do you think?
not a bad idea! but consider more alternatives, you should!
