I like that you write stuff like this. It makes me happy. I hope you have a fabulous weekend and love reading your blog.

Also who writes negative comments anyway. Who wants to waste time being mean an nasty.

As well you should.

keep your finger on that delete button... I just read some of the comments you've gotten the past two days and I can't quite believe the self-righteousness of some commenters, especially on a blog exploding with individualistic optimism like yours.

one thing that I've found over the past year is the incredible amount of judgement that comes with a lot of bloggers... including ones who are the first to proclaim their own carefree-ness and disassociation with the wedding industry overall, which is supposedly where all that superior judgement was coming from. hmmm.

hang in there - and I know I'm not alone when I say that reading about your wedding will be a thrill - one that has everything to do with you and nothing to do with the price tag.

I wish you an AMAZING marriage!

Good for you!

Hang in there. Really. My wedding cost more than I'd expected, too. Not by much, but it's amazing how much cash spills out the day of. And maybe we'd budgeted for that hemorrhage? I don't really remember. But I do remember how painful it was handing out those wads of cash.

That's really all I had to say. Just wanted you to know I. Don't. Care. if you went over budget. It happens.

you. are. awesome.

OH and thank you for telling us without actually telling us how much you spent.

And yes all that really matters is that you are satisfied in the end.

I'm so afraid that by the time this is all over I'll regret what I've spent or haven't spent.

i love your sense of humor btw.

I love everything about this blog. And I got married 9 months ago and do NOT need to be reading wedding blogs anymore. If you know what I'm saying. xoxo.

didn't their mothers ever tell those meanies...
"if you don't have anything nice to say... don't say anything at all!!"

I was one of the people who voted for you to tell, but after seeing the s*it-storm that has erupted over the last couple of days I can completely understand you not wanting to expose yourself to that kind of ugly judgement.

I read over on broken saucer 'I don't need or want your wedding total. I want how to make mine cost less, and still get what I want.'

That's how I feel now. What are your stories, your tips and tricks?

The wonders of a delete button. Truth is... keep it up! I was married a month ago, and I still read too! I still think about weddings, everything that still needs to get done, or wonderful things that I find and think, "Ohhh... that would've looked very pretty!" Maybe you can do a "Starting a life together TTO"? Whatever it is, you'll do great. You have a gift.

TTO you kick ass, you really do. My budget was $10k too and it got me reading your blog. My wedding was exactly a week after yours, and I could commiserate. I feel you, your bottom line and love your blog. You really do kick ass. As someone who knows, it is difficult to stick to a budget with so many social expectations. I'm glad that you stuck close and that you did what mattered.

As you should. Too many haters out there.

From the rest of us, thanks for sharing. :)

This isn't really a comment about #653, it's more a comment on the culmination of somewhere in the mid-640s up to 653, but I was out of town camping so I just read them all today.

I'm a very private person too. I like my walls. I need my walls. You have a great blog that's very inspiring and I feel like I've learned a lot from it.. regardless of bottom lines, a good money-saving idea is a good money-saving idea.

So how about those stories?

Really?! Why do so many people insist on reminding the world that they suck?

You fight the good fight, girl. And if you should start to feel like you need a bodyguard, I'm local.
