#322: indoor option.

after the comment from the friend about guests who don't particularly enjoy being in the sun (dag, i really hadn't considered this. but only because i LOVE the sun with passioneth...), i've decided to keep my indoor options open.

The rental fee is $1500 for up to 175 guests. The rental fee includes the use of the room, rounds of 10 set with white or off white linens and your choice of napkin colors. You are allowed four hours prior to your start time for décor and five hours for your actual reception. Our director of catering can customize a menu to compliment your special day.

what do you think?

i'm not one for indoor venues, but i went with one for the reception for the same reason. this is a STEAL! i thought mine was good for $825, but no linens - which let me tell you ADD up fast!

WOW that's a great deal! And there's a real piano, so the music possibilities open up greatly...

Wow! Seriously? This place is gorgeous! Is it really in the LA area? I can't find anything affordable unless it comes with terrible hotel conference-room carpet! Would you mind sharing the location with us all? Or even just me!? And the piano is awesome, as my FMIL is a piano teacher, all the little nieces and nephews can show us their stuff with impromptu recitals during the reception!! LOVE IT!

That's beautiful! Definitely looks like a much more expensive venue. One things to keep in mind is that a venue this elegant may dictate certain things about your decor and dress that may wind up costing you more, so you'll want to get creative. Also make sure you're not the one arriving 4 hours beforehand to set up! We photographed a wedding last year where the bride arrived literally in a tizzy to set up her own wedding in the brief allotted time-frame before the ceremony. I learned from setting up my own wedding that, for someone who doesn't do setups all the time, this can truly require a couple of DAYS! Make sure you have people on hand to help you, and a very thorough setup plan so that you're not stressing the details at the last minute. I think you could pull this off! :)

P.S. Another plus of an indoor venue? You're covered in case the weather turns foul! I've seen FOUR weddings this year scramble to find an alternate ceremony location: one because of snow, and three because of rain. This way, you don't have to worry about the weather at all. If you love the outdoors, just allow a solid block of time for some photos outside with your man. :)

If the food is good, it sounds like a great deal. See if you can have a tasting before sealing the deal.

That is a really good deal. And so pretty!

9 hours for 1500 plus tables and linens? total score!

at least that price includes tables and linens!! a place I looked at in Nashville costs $2,000 just to rent and it included NOTHING! Plus that place looks gorgeous!

That's a beautiful venue, and at $1500 including linens...? Wow.

The last wedding I did was outdoor. It was May and 105 out. The wedding was at the hottest part of the day. The reception was indoors though, thankfully. A lot of folks made mention of the temp and location (outdoors). Not a good thing for the elderly or those of us who already live in our own tropical island (think: change of life). But pretty? Yes. Absolutely.

Wow, that place is REALLY pretty!!

yes, please share location if in LA/SoCal!

LA or not - that is a steal. Here in Atlanta, the typical facility fee is about $3500 and that does not include tables, linens etc...I hope you grab it!

it's beautiful and a great price. that's great that it comes with linens, especially colored napkins -- colored napkins on a white tablecloth can be dramatic enough that you don't need a colored tablecloth. while i think the venue has a certain built-in elegance, i don't think it completely needs to dictate how you decorate it.

That is GORGEOUS. I say go for it! I am jealous...my ballroom is pathetic.

Wow! I would book it - the price is amazing.

What is the name of this venue?

Looks great.
Where in the LA area is this?
I am looking for a location in LA and I'm very interested.

That ballroom is too lovely for words! We're paying $1500 for a small ballroom and terrace in Sedona, for only 6 hrs. Our venue comes with tables and chivari chairs and I considered that a huge bonus/savings.

But your room is FAR prettier! The ceiling and chandeliers are divine. GO FOR IT!!!

this is a total steal!! you could always try and have the ceremony outdoors if you wanted, but this looks so pretty.

Wow! Gorgeous floors! One of my criteria was no "defined" dance floor, so guests weren't all crammed up onto one.

We're using a place that's $3500 for 8 hours, plus tables and the ugliest chairs you've ever seen. Linens will be extra.

Ditto what Kimberly said. We just finally found a place in the ATL that's sub-2k, but we'll definitely be adding a tent to make the most use of the small space!
This ballroom is gorgeous. Do they have a good coordinator/contact person?

Hi! I was wondering where this venue was located!
Thanks so much for your help :O)

Did you ever say where this is?

Hi, Hope you don't mind me leaving some info...
This is at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. This is called the Gold Room. When you rent it out you also have access to the foyer, which is under the Gold Room. They suggest you do drinks and appetizers in the foyer and then move upstairs to the Gold Room for dinner and dancing. The place is gorgeous in person, but for us the cost of an open bar all night (I believe it was $35/person) was prohibitive and the caterer would not let us do a tasting unless we paid for it.

However, I loved the place and it was definitely our second choice if the Villa Del Sol de Oro in Sierra Madre hadn't worked out for us.
