#311: $110/hour site fee.

i think i could spruce this up a bit with the right lighting and decorations. all DIY of course.

i'm picturing...long tables...and _________...

EDIT: the venue is prince erik hall in arcadia. the food is catered by santa anita gardens and everything from tables to linens must be rented.

HELL-O!

yes ma'am!

For $110 an hour I would definitely make this work. We got our venue for $10 more an hour. it could have been an empty barn for all i cared, but i was all over the price and determined to make it work.

btw: its not a barn. its a banquet center. lol...

Heck yes you could! Make sure you check about hidden fees (staff, cake cutting, required caterers, etc) if you haven't already.
FYI - our site actually does have a preffered caterers list, and its fine. They actually require the caterers to be much more full service then they would normally be, which helps us a ton. But, if you haven't yet, read all the fine print, and be a agressive about asking what the find print is :)

OOH does that include the tent? And what's outside? Any good photo ops?

long tables and candles

wow this so so cute; great find - so the chandeliers come with? You could totally design and use them as some inspiration. Just think of all the extra room in the budget that you can apply elsewhere - upgrade your menu, add design elements, etc. Fun fun.

Great blog! I myself am trying to plan a wedding without going into serious debt. And congrats on the engagement! I started reading back when you were still just thinking about getting married :)

That's an amazing venue for 110.00 an hour. Wow. Great deal...book it!

That's a cute place! Draped fabric on the ceiling of the tent would be a fun and affordable way create drama?

We are planning our wedding for about $7000, and are doing great! We have had to cut down on some things, like elabourate decorations and gourmet food, but it makes you realise what is important about the day. I know you're doing just fine with planning yours, but I just wanted to give you some encouragement if you need it. :)

Hey--You might want to check out proflowers.com for your wedding flowers. From what I've seen, they're a good deal cheaper than a more "traditional" florist, and sell flowers in bulk outside of their wedding packages. I've seen pictures of weddings they've done the flowers for (inc. on weddingbee) and they looked just great.

We are getting married in a space like this. It's a permanent tent set up on a concrete pad in a privately owned garden. We are going to open the sides up so that guests can enjoy the scenery and then use light green table cloths and lollipop flower centerpieces.

my wedding cost about $5000 and I would say that almost everything was DIY (except for our clothing). People were in AWE, it was just beautiful and I had everything I wanted, including about 175 guests. My family and I made all the invitations, food, favors, cake... down to the table runners! Also got all my centerpieces for $3 each during boxing week.

What is this venue? How come everyone else recognizes it except me?

To save money, I'm doing long banquet tables with candle and roses/petals for centerpieces. I would also say that depending on your theme and if it's permitted of course, spruce up the ceiling. Something simple like a draped fabric (sort of how they do the psuedo-arabian canopy beds) or large lanterns (deals are easy to find and they're easy to light with LEDs). Our venue is free (the BEST word in the English language) so i may up the decorations, but I'm partial to affording a house instead of blowing everything on a wedding, lol.

One of the first venues I found had a rental fee of $110 PER PERSON, not per hour - and the cheapest catering package was and additional $125pp.....needless to say we kept looking.
