#299: wow.

in honor of my 300th post (300 posts!!! er, do i need a life?...), i'm starting a new series on this blog. *yay.*

unfortunately for you, it's not called "free sh*t" or "real weddings" or "inspiration boards". first, there are too many other blogs who are truly the experts at all of the above. second, i don't have any free sh*t to give or any real weddings to show you or know how to create inspiration boards. i know. i'm challenged.

so instead. my series is going to be called "newbie mistakes". how'd it come about? well, it's been two weeks since i've gotten engaged and i've already been called "demanding" and "high-maintenance". in the same sentence. so i decided...i'm going to share with you how it happened to me...so you could prevent it from ever happening to you.

ya dig? coming soon.

I read your blog on a regular basis and recently started my own about a 12k wedding for a few hundred people. I completely understand what you're talking about with the lack of real weddings and free sh*t. But you seem to be doing well with what you got. Congratulations!

I have a 10K wedding budget and I've made some mistakes. My first mistake was reading all the magazines and letting those weddings get into my head. It was a real let down when it finally hit me that I can't have the venue I wanted with the photo booth and the cater and the dress with the dj in my budget. I cried, but now I've learned how to use the magazines and take their ideas. For example, fiance and his best man are going to build our own photo booth.

Anyways, that was the long way of saying, I'm looking forward to reading about the mistakes and love the blog for the inspiration and ideas.

1) did that one place ever email you back?
2) Why were you called demanding? Please share. I am so afraid that's what is being said about me. I just... I KNOW what I want!!! Hang in there sister. I think "newbie mistakes" is an AWESOME (truly) idea! thanks!

honestly, this feature is just as helpful, if not more, than features on inspiration boards and stuff. i can't wait to see what comes about!

Congrats on your engagement! My fiance and I are getting married this July and so we are in the home stretch but I remember the stresses of getting started and I promise it will get better.

We weren't able to stay at $10,000 but we came pretty close but having a late evening thursday wedding with a dessert buffet instead of a traditional dinner.

I feel like this type of blog is going to be more useful than the ones you listed. I will be checking it daily. I look forward to hearing advice!

I can't wait to hear about your lessons learned on budgeting. It was my goal but I had to bump it up since... well, ya know, it's almost impossible. I'm rooting for you tho girl!
