#447: WTF?

my parent's house was just burglarized.

my mom left the house at noon to run errands. came back at 2 to find sh*t all over the place. the culprits shattered the front door glass to enter the house and apparently did a quick sweep.

this means:
1) the burglar knew my mom was home alone and that she would leave around that time (WTF?!?!?!)
2) the burglar was watching (double WTF?!?!?!? from where?! that's what i want to know!!!)
3) it was a targeted burglary

  1. That's awful. As if it is not creepy enough that your house gets broken into.... This sucks double time.

    I'm so sorry!

  2. Oh jeez - where does she live? Is there anything the cops can do? I'm so sorry, how awful!

At least he came in while she was gone, which means he's not after her. Breaking and entering is one thing, but home invasion (entering while someone is home) is punishable as severely as rape.

    *huuuuuuugs* I'm glad she's ok.

  3. omg! that sucks...similar thing (on a lesser scale) happened to my brother...it's his first job delivering pizzas, parks his car for 5 min to pick up the pizza, his brand new ipod touch (which was a grad present) was jacked from his car. WTF. hope karma rapes those burglars in the arse.

  10. That is AWFUL. A very similar thing happened to my Aunt's family just a few weeks ago. They were only gone for 45 minutes, and they got back and everything was gone. So creepy. I hope your mom is okay!

  14. WTF is right. It has to be someone she knew or has been watching the house. A friend was just telling me he wishes he talked to his neighbors more because his house was broken into and the police told him it was the third breal in on that block and that they were looing for two guys that looked suspicious. But since he doesn't really know his neighbors and no one came to his door to alert him, unfortunalty they got his house too. :(

THANK GOODNESS she wasn't home and that she's ok...........

  15. How horrible. I'm glad everyone is ok though. Things can be recovered, people can't. But what a traumatizing and stressful thing!

  17. Wow. That's terrible.

It's amazing what people are doing now a days.

I work for a hotel and we had someone come in with fake information/credit card... everything and they stole a tv on Sunday. Crazy stuff.

But I am glad she is ok. Things can always be replaced, but I will pray that yall can get past the stress associated with it.

  23. That is so awful! My WC's place was robbed only like 2 months ago and they stole her e-ring and laptop!! I hear that burglary and car breakins are on the rise, especially with the bad economy. At least your mom is safe! I'll be thinking of you and your family! TOTALLY SUCKS!

  24. Oh no! I'm a Mom and even though we say we're OK (to make our children feel less stressed) we're not. She may never feel the same about that house again--and that's how they rob more than just the material things.

  25. Oh my goodness that is terrible! The only 'good thing' if any, is that at least they waited until she was gone. My mom was robbed in our house when I was a baby, two teenagers came in the back door and had knives. She gave them money and they left but ever since she has every door in the house locked, all the time! Glad your mom is safe!

  26. oh no! that's horrible! that sucks like no other but thank goodness the guy waited until your mom left. i'd be more freaked if that happened while she was there. hopefully things settle down for you guys now.

  27. Wow--not cool! I hate that sort of thing, even in cases where nothing gets *stolen* it's disturbing to think of someone being in your space. I'm glad your mom is OK.
